Day 1

Arrival

Pick up from Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO)
Highlights: Welcome briefing, equipment check, overnight rest
Stay: Kibo Palace Hotel
Day 2

Momella Gate (1,500 m) → Miriakamba Hut (2,514 m)

Distance: ~10 km / 6.2 mi
Hiking Time: 5–6 hours
Vegetation Zone: Lower Montane Forest – lush forests with giant ferns, fig trees, and bamboo groves
Route: Momella Gate → Momella Hills → forest trails
Highlights: Wildlife sightings (giraffes, buffalo, colobus monkeys)
Stay: Miriakamba Hut
Day 3

Miriakamba Hut (2,514 m) → Saddle Hut (3,570 m)

Distance: ~8 km / 5 mi
Hiking Time: 5–6 hours
Vegetation Zone: Heather and Moorland Zone – open landscapes with heather, lobelias, and giant groundsels
Route: Ascend through heather and moorland
Optional: Side hike to Little Meru (3,820 m) for acclimatization and sunset views
Highlights: Views of the Ash Cone and volcanic landscapes
Stay: Saddle Hut
Day 4

Saddle Hut (3,570 m) → Socialist Peak (4,566 m) → Momella Gate

Distance: ~18 km / 11 mi (round trip)
Hiking Time: 9–11 hours
Vegetation Zone: Alpine Desert / Summit Zone – sparse vegetation, volcanic ash, and rocky terrain
Route: Early morning ascent to Socialist Peak, then descend through moorland, forests, and Momella Gate
Highlights: Sunrise at the summit, panoramic views of Mount Kilimanjaro and surrounding plains
Stay: Miriakamba Hut
Day 5

Departure / Optional Extension

Yes, we provide complimentary pick-up and drop-off from Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK) for all our package bookings.
Do I need a Visa for Tanzania?
Most travelers need a visa. You can obtain an E-Visa online beforehand or a Visa on Arrival ($50 USD or $100 USD for US citizens). Please check your specific country requirements.
